The Hotel

Comprised of four beautifully restored Georgian buildings in characterful Marylebone Village, the hotel is inspired by Baker Street’s most famous resident – Sherlock Holmes. Like the man himself, the hotel is a witty blend of heritage and playfulness, with 118 guest rooms and luxurious loft suites, a sumptuous lounge, tranquil library, ten meeting and event spaces and a gym. All-day casual dining is enjoyed in the seasonally inspired restaurant, Kitchen at Holmes, where London’s melting pot of culinary cultures can be explored at every meal.

Once known as Bedford House, our imposing Georgian building was formerly the Bedford College for Women, established there at the end of the 19th century. As part of a row of houses built around the 1790s, it played host to the British aristocracy, both as permanent residents and renters who left their country estates to flock to the capital for the London Season – an annual whirl of elegant balls, decadent dinner parties and courtly visits to Buckingham Palace.

Holmes is filled with a stylish mix of antiques, curiosities and artefacts that are bound to intrigue even the busiest of guests. These nestle comfortably alongside contemporary furniture by leading luxury designers, including Tom Dixon and Muuto. Limited-edition artworks by Nelly Duff Gallery adorn the walls, while guests are invited to make themselves comfortable amidst the Simon Key Bertman throws and sumptuous fabrics and furnishings by Mourne Textiles. All of the effortlessly elegant guest rooms offer amenities by iconic London fragrance and skincare brand Gilchrist & Soames’ Guild & Pepper collection, and prestigious Molton Brown 1973 products feature in every suite.
